#stayathome self-care tips: DIY Skin radiance-boosting drink

New Project (8)

While we’re on #lockdown and #WFH, it’s important to invest time in self-care. Having the heating on all-day can play havoc on the skin and make your complexion look dry and dull. Plus, even though you’re not wearing makeup every day as you used to for the office, it’s still important to maintain a good twice-daily skincare routine of cleansing and moisturising.

In times like these though, I feel we need an extra wellness-boost to help us feel good on the inside and out. That’s why I highly recommend this Lemon and Ginger drink that is packed full of skin-loving ingredients.

Body & Beauty Benefits
Ginger – Contains around 40 antioxidant properties to help even out the skin tone and improve elasticity.
Lemon – Packed full of VitaminC, lemons help to brighten the complexion, even out the skin tone, minimise pores, clear spots and blemishes for smoother, brighter and more radiant skin. Lemons also help to boost the body’s immune system.
Apple Cider Vinegar –
A powerful ingredient that has many health benefits – aids weight loss, reduces cholesterol, lowers blood sugar levels, and improves the symptoms of diabetes.
Turmeric –
A highly effective spice that is part of the ginger root family. Turmeric is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory ingredient that targets spots/acne, fine lines and wrinkles while helping to restore skin’s natural glow.

Ingredients for your daily drink
1/2 a lemon, freshly squeezed
Freshly sliced ginger
Teaspoon of turmeric
1 1/2 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar

Method
Leave a good amount of sliced ginger to infuse in a jug of cold water (Can be topped up a few times). Add the lemon and, turmeric and apple cider vinegar into a glass.
Top up with the ginger-infused water.
Drink daily.

The results….I’ve been using it for a week and my skin is radiant and glowing. Plus, my makeup goes on better you get that lit-from-within-glow.

Such a great drink also delicious. I personally cannot rave enough about the all round virtues of apple cider vinegar, I’ve been using it for about a year now every morning before food. It really sorts out gut problems everything from bloating and gas to embarrassing rumbles, also really works at neutralising an overly acidic gut.
Another beauty booster drink is celery juice, not the most palatable but believe me, it really does bring an inner glow.
